In this position article, Fatima and Khan have applied the concept of soft power to the Arab world. The public opinions are given much importance, and it is quite difficult for American diplomats who have worked in Arab countries to continue working in the UAE while taking care of the US justice system. They neither want to do anything against the rules and regulations of the Arab countries nor want to disrespect the American policies.

Since 9/11, a large number of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans have framed Islam as a religion that promotes terrorism. In this article, Powell argues that the fear of international terrorism is dominant, but this does not mean Islam is supporting it. In fact, various Muslims have themselves been killed worldwide in terrorist attacks.
